A Thankful Thanksgiving

With all of the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it’s not very often that I have the opportunity to truly reflect on all of the wonderful people in my life and all of the amazing opportunities that have been strategically put in my life’s journey. During this Thanksgiving season, I am especially thankful for my work family at Bellaire Family Eye Care. First and foremost, I am thankful for Dr. Ann Voss for opening the doors of Bellaire Family Eye Care 18 years ago this month. She has worked tirelessly over the years to establish a wonderful office for both our patients and staff. And she has given so many, including myself, the opportunity to work in an environment filled with love, joy, and camaraderie. I am thankful for Dr. Marcia Moore for the kind and loving spirit that she brings to our office. And, as she would tell it, I am thankful that she put in a good word for me when the time came to hire a third doctor! I am thankful for our office manager, Sue, for all the behind the scenes efforts required to make each day run so smoothly. She handles every situation with grace, compassion and most importantly with a smile. I am thankful for our front desk team: Loretta, Marilyn, Megan and Jessica. Each one of these ladies cares for our patients with endless patience, compassion and love. I am thankful for our patient care coordinator, Kim. She provides outstanding service to our patients in the area of contact lenses and helps orchestrate the inner workings of our office. I am thankful for our clinic team: Crishae and Carmelita. They lovingly interact with each patient and they pay extra attention to address the needs of our patients. I am thankful for our optical team: Alex, Bertha, and Melanie. These ladies not only help our patients pick out their perfect pair of glasses, but they always make sure each patient is educated on eyewear that is most beneficial to their vision needs and eye health. I am thankful for our Vision Learning Center coordinators, Deborah and Kendri. They serve as liaisons between the Vision Learning Center and Bellaire Family Eye Care and always provide excellent service to patients in both offices. I am thankful for all of our vision therapists: Joseph, Jose, Abby, Lauren, Jonathan, Vanessa, Norma and Nicole. With their many skills and talents, they are able to touch so many lives through the gift of improved visual function. I am thankful to our billing specialist, Ashley. She works tirelessly to maximize each patient’s vision and medical benefits. I am thankful for our marketing coordinator, Andres who has encouraged us to embark upon new marketing and social media strategies. Last but certainly not least, I am thankful for our patients. Because of our patients, we get to fulfill our passion each and every day and that is providing each patient with clear, comfortable, and healthy vision. So, simply put, I am thankful, thankful, thankful. Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving holiday everyone!
